O 27º Fantasporto 2007 - Festival Internacional de Cinema do Porto teve a sua abertura oficial sexta-feira dia 23 de Fevereiro, com a exibição do filme O Labirinto do Fauno (nomeado para 6 Óscares).

O programa inclui as secções competitivas Selecção Oficial do Cinema Fantástico (longas e curtas-metragens), Méliès de Prata (longas e curtas-metragens), a 17ª Semana dos Realizadores e a Secção Orient Express dedicada às cinematografias do Extremo Oriente.

Além das secções competitivas, o Fantasporto apresenta as secções Oficiais Não Competitivas Première & Panorama, Anima-te (longas metragens de animação), Porto em Curtas e Retrospectivas.

Durante o festival e como habitualmente, será atribuído o Prémio Méliès de Prata que conta nesta sua 11ª edição, com dez filmes candidatos.

O candidato vencedor do Méliès de Prata do Fantasporto fica automaticamente apurado para o Prémio Méliès d´Or, que desde 1996 é promovido pela Federação Europeia de Festivais de Cinema Fantástico, com o objectivo de dar visibilidade ao cinema europeu e que este ano será atribuído durante o Festival Internacional de Cinema Fantástico de Lund, na Suécia, a decorrer em Setembro.

O cinema português está presente na Selecção Oficial do Cinema Fantástico com a curta-metragem «O Jardim das Delícias da Química», de Jorge Sá e na 17ª Semana dos Realizadores com “Florípes” de Miguel Gonçalves Mendes, “Tebas” de Rodrigo Areia e “Suicídio Encomendado” de Artur Serra Araújo.

Na secção Panorama do Cinema Português serão exibidas várias curtas e médias metragens entre as quais o documentário “Olhar o Cinema Português” de Manuel Mozos.

Co-apresentadores da cerimónia dos Oscars

Já foram divulgados todos os apresentadores que vão divulgar os premiados com mais uma estatueta.

Serão eles Jack Nicholson e Meryl Streep, que cada um possui o recorde para o maior número de nomeações para Oscars, irá também aparecer Philip Seymour Hoffman, Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert Downey Jr. , Greg Kinnear, Helen Mirren, Clive Owen, Ken Watanabe e Naomi Watts.

Também foi anunciado que Gael Barcia Bernal, Emily Blunt, Catherine Deneuve, Al Gore, James McAvoy e Jerry Seinfeld irão apresentar prémios.
